At the Old Pheasant we are proud
of our food.
Head Chef has a passion and flair for turning ordinary
ingredients in to mouth watering, flavoured delights.
The special’s board main courses included Chef’s Curry, Shepherd’s Pie,
Sea Bass seared with a Watercress Dressing and Wild Venison with
Cranberry. These are exceptionally priced at £8.95-£12.50.
Our main menu is a mix of classics with a twist; Grilled Halibut dressed
with Tiger Prawns and served with Dill Hollandaise, Butterflied Pork
Fillets accompanied by melted Stilton, Lamb Rump with Madeira and
Redcurrant and Salmon and Plaice Olives served Thermidor style.
These sit alongside staples such as Chef’s Steak and Ale Pie, Surf and
Turf plus a range of grills – again, reasonable between £9.50-£14.95 |

The Old Pheasant is really trying hard to deliver its vision of offering
exceptional quality to satisfy a wide range of customer needs.
Children
can look forward to their own Young Pheasants Menu, where many of the
options are smaller versions of adult dishes, there’s a special Sunday
Lunch Menu with a choice of starters, mains and desserts, and a
vegetarian menu too.
Visitors can eat in the lovely candlelit restaurant, where the emphasis
is on comfort and informality, they can choose one of the eclectic
tables and chairs in the bar area and, on warm days, there’s plenty of
seating outside... weather permitting... |

The
first thing we noticed was the
wonderful
flowers that greet visitors to the bar; beautiful blooms with a simple,
contemporary twist - were they a hint of what was to come? A delightful
waitress, called Robyn, showed us into the bar for drinks while we studied
our menus. Robyn clearly loves her job and looked after us all evening. .
